Govt of Finance has amended 15 N section of Securities and Exchange Board of India Act 1992.
This amendment raises upper limit on the age of member of Securities Appellate Tribunal, which was earlier 62 years and now with this amendment it is 65 years.
This is done to utilize the technical and expertise of the officials appointed for these posts.
