Import on Mobile phones without IMEI number

Govt has banned the mobile phones with no unique IMEI number.
IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is 15 digit code, which has to be unique for each mobile equipment.
No IMEI phones are considered as threat to security as they are used by terrorist groups.
DOT(Deptt of Telecommunications) also asked al the operators to stop servicing phones without IMEI numbers.
The IMEI number can be seen on the mobile phone display after pressing keys *#06#.
In many countries IMEI is used to counter the mobile theft.
