IAEA chief successor announced

Mr. Yukiya Amano from Japan will succeed Mohd. ElBaradei as Director General of IAEA when Mohd. ElBaradei will step down in November.
Mr. Yukiya got 23 votes out of 35 in favor and secured 2/3rd majority. The other candidates were Abdul Samad Minty of South Africa and Luis Echavarri of Spain.
He became 5th Director General of IAEA since its inception.
He has extensive record of working on non proliferation and disarmament.
He is currently in IAEA board of Governors and ambassador to International Organizations in Vienna from Japan.
